ai-powered interviews

I did an AI-powered interview some time back.

Or, I should say, I did like 45 seconds of one and then decided it wasn't for me.

I totally understand the appeal on both sides for the AI interviewer. The candidate can do it whenever, the employer can churn through 100x as many candidates to find that diamond in the rough, sure. Win-win.

But in that moment, when the AI interviewer asks for me to introduce myself...I just thought it was preposterous. Talking to a machine so it can measure tens of thousands of parameters and reduce me to a score.

I'm okay with doing leetcode. Coding problems, sure. Record me doing the coding problem, sure. But introduce myself to a machine? I hope I don't have to keep working much longer. Pour one out for the zoomers who will grow up with this.
